First off, a big thank you to all the people who donated to us during this quarterly (and my first) fundraising campaign. We so appreciate your belief in nonprofit journalism. We will keep working hard to bring you important accountability and political journalism from around Kentucky. The midterm elections are right around the corner!

To that end, sit back with this week’s profile of the 6th District Congressional race which appears to be getting tighter, like a lot of races around the country. And most of all, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

COMMENTARY

By Linda Blackford

If there are one or two of you out there who still have doubts that Gov. Andy Beshear will run for president in 2028, doubt no more. This week, he officially released “Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country,” joining the Presidential Hopeful section of your local bookstore already stocked with choices such as “Young Man in a Hurry: A Journey of Discovery” by Gavin Newsom, “Where We Keep the Light: Stories From a Life of Service” by Josh Shapiro, “Crisis of the Common Good: The Fight for Meaning and Connection in a Broken America,” by Chris Murphy. You get the idea – first you set up a PAC, then write a book with a colon in the title and you’re halfway to New Hampshire.
