Happy Wednesday. We’re halfway through the week, and things are still popping. On Tuesday, Gov. Beshear announced he’s moving some funding to a nonprofit that solves medical debt. The same program caused a ruckus in Lexington, but it’s aimed at helping hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians.

James Comer won’t be holding those extremely entertaining Oversight committee meetings any more, partly because of term limits, and partly because it’s hard to monitor a fight between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jasmine Crockett when you’re running for governor.

Trump is undoing an environmental law that could have a big effect on Kentucky.

And in Commentary, I comment on the debate over masculinity that’s entered the 6th District Congressional race.

Have a great day and thanks for reading.

COMMENTARY

By Linda Blackford

Dr. Ralph Alvarado’s campaign pushed out a press release this week on a curious piece in the Daily Caller, the right-wing website about Alvarado’s opponent in the 6th District Congressional race, Zach Dembo. In it, author Derek VanBuskirk cited Dembo’s 2024 interview on a podcast called The Good Guy Guide, in which Dembo talked about performative masculinity, and other issues.
