The 6th District congressional race appears to be the only one that’s even close, and on Thursday night, Republican Ralph Alvarado and Democrat Zach Dembo went head to head in the first televised debate. Reporter McKenna Horsley was there.
McKenna also wrote about a tussle between Auditor Allison Ball and Gov. Andy Beshear over the Executive Branch Ethics Commission that is not without its amusing side.
A judge has blocked Homeland Security from doing election-related sweeps in nine states, but the Trump administration will probably appeal that decision.
And in Commentary, a new tax change brings school vouchers much closer to Kentucky.

COMMENTARY
By Rebecca Powell
Many of us still recall the fight to defeat KY Amendment 2, which would have allowed public funds to go to private schools. Kentuckians overwhelmingly rejected this amendment by a margin of 65% to 35%. This should have sent a clear message to our representatives.
